Purpose:
To reduce or minimize possible liability to Pine Technical College and the State of Minnesota.

Policy:
All drivers of Pine Technical College vehicles shall possess a valid, current drivers license. All drivers of personal vehicles for College business shall possess a valid, current drivers license and minimum liability coverage on their vehicle as required by law.

Procedure:
A notification sign shall be posted at the vehicle checkout board, stating that a photocopy of a drivers license filed with the Human Resources department is necessary before use of the vehicle (filing one time per year event). When a personal vehicle is used for college business, a copy of the vehicles liability insurance will be required with their license copy (one time per year event). On January 1 of each calendar year, all copies of drivers licenses and vehicle insurances shall be discarded. New copies shall be necessary before using a vehicle. All employees with a job description that requires them to drive, shall notify their supervisor upon revocation, cancellation, disqualification or suspension of their license.

STUDENT USE
Student use of PTC vehicles will require a photocopy of the drivers license and insurance (minimum liability), filed with the staff in charge of the department.

Responsibilities:
The Human Resource department to coordinate with the Business office to insure that employees using PTC's vehicles and their own personal vehicles have their paper work in. All staff supervising student drivers follow guidelines set forth.
