International Students
Admission Requirements
1. Completed Pine Technical College Application.
-- Include permanent home address and country of birth and country of citizenship.
-- Include the names and relationship to you of any dependents who may be traveling with you.
2. Non-refundable $20 (U.S. currency) application fee must accompanying application form.
3. Official transcripts verifying equivalency to a United States high school transcript.
4. Additional post-secondary transcripts if intending to transfer credits (subject to U.S. equivalencies).
5. Immunization records and/or evidence of recent physical examination (notarized).
Proof of English Proficiency
Acceptable documentation of English proficiency includes:
-- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 500 or more (paper/pencil) or a score of 173 or more (computer)
-- Michigan Test score of 75 or more
-- Proficiency through the completion of an ESL program from a regionally accredited college or university
Documentation of Financial Support
International applicants must submit documentation of access to at least $19,000 in U.S. currency for each year of attendance, excluding summer sessions. This will require:
-- notarized bank statement sent directly from the bank
-- if the account is in a foreign bank, the account must be in the student's or parent's name
-- if the account is in the name other than the student or parent, a notarized letter from the person must accompany the bank
statement, verifying that the money is for the student and they will guarantee payment in full prior to the beginning of the first
term
Health Insurance
International atudents are mandated to purchase a health insurance policy through the college. Cost is approximately $850 per year.
Upon Arrival in the United States
The following will be required before you are allowed to enroll in the College:
-- Date I-20 requested
-- Visa ID: type and type of entry
-- Passport ID: issue date, effective dates and issuing country
-- Temporary address in the U.S.
-- I-94
-- Port of entry in the U.S.
