Apply for Financial Aid
Step 1: Apply for your Federal PIN
U.S. Department of Education PIN Site
To expedite the financial aid process, students must apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online using a federal PIN as a signature. In addition, if the student is a dependent student, at least one parent will need a PIN to electronically submit his/her signature. To obtain a PIN for a student and/or parent, go to the PIN website and follow the directions. Once the PIN is received, the FAFSA can be completed.
Selective Service
Students who are males between the ages of 18 and 25 must be registered with the Selective Service to obtain financial aid. This can be done at the Selective Service System website. A student may also complete the registration for Selective Service on the FAFSA.
Step 2: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
U.S. Department of Education FAFSA Site
To obtain access to financial aid funds, a new FAFSA must be completed each year.
The Pine Technical College Title IV School Code is 005535.
Be sure to use your correct name and Social Security number as shown on your Social Security card when completing the FAFSA. The FAFSA may be completed online at the FAFSA website. If you choose not to use a PIN to sign your FAFSA, be sure to print and submit the required signature page. Once your FAFSA is received and processed, the Department of Education wiill send a Student Aid Report (SAR) to the student. Pine Technical College will receive this information at approximately the same time. The SAR should not be confused with the award letter, which will be sent by Pine Technical College at a later date.
Step 3: Turn in all documents required by Pine Technical College
The Financial Aid office may request additional documents from the student to process the application according to federal regulations. If you are selected for verification, you will receive a letter and forms in the U.S. mail. Please read the letter carefully and submit the completed forms with signatures to the Pine Technical College Financial Aid office as soon as possible to avoid delays.
Step 4: Receive Your Award Letter
Once all your application materials have been submitted and verified, you will receive an award letter. This letter is sent by Pine Technical College. This will show the type of aid available to you at Pine Technical College. These funds consist of grants that do not need to be repaid and loans that must be repaid eventually.
