Beginning December 28, 2012, any crib provided by child care facilities and family child care homes must meet new and improved federal safety standards.
About Child Care Resource & Referral
Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) is dedicated to assisting families, providers and the community with child care information and services. The mission of Minnesota Child Care Resource & Referral is to promote high-quality, affordable, accessible child care for all Minnesota families.
A Provider of Information and Support
CCR&R provides information and support to families in search of child care. CCR&R:
-- helps families find child care that best meets their needs
-- provides individualized referrals to family child care homes, centers, preschool programs and school-age programs
-- maintains a comprehensive updated database of all licensed child care programs and providers, and school-age programs
-- informs families about licensing regulations, services for children with special health and developmental needs, financial, social and community services
-- increases family choice by building the supply of child care
-- enhances the quality of child care through provider training, site visits, grants, and general support
-- promotes the professional growth and development of child care staff and providers with educational programs, grants, training, consultation and mentoring
A Promoter of Professional Growth and Development of Child Care Staff and Providers
CCR&R is a resource for child care providers and promotes the professional growth and development of child care staff and providers with educational programs, grants, training, consultation and mentoring. CCR&R:
-- supports providers/programs through the licensing process
-- promotes the professional growth and development of child care program staff and providers through grants, resources, training, consultation, and mentoring
-- supplies information on loans and scholarships and administer state grants to child care providers, programs and staff
-- markets programs through parent referrals
An Advocate for High Quality Child Care
CCR&R is an advocate for high quality child care and reaches out to businesses and communities to generate awareness and support for high quality child care. CCR&R also:
-- educates local communities and leaders about child care issues
-- works with communities to effectively address child care needs
-- provides information on the supply and demand of child care
-- increases the business community's awareness of, and investment in, early care and education
-- links businesses with child care solutions, such as Child Care Resource and Referral, and community partnerships.
