LPN to RN Mobility Program

Program Overview

The LPN to RN mobility program allows students to get their Practical Nursing Diploma at Pine Technical College. After completion of the Practical Nursing program you can contact other colleges that have a Registered Nursing program. You may take a majority of the General Education courses of the Registered Nursing program at Pine Technical College while you wait to enroll into the Registered Nursing program. The benefit of the mobility program is that it allows a student to be a Licensed Practical Nurse and work in the nursing field, while working towards a Registered Nursing Degree.

Step One:

Complete Practical Nursing Program at Pine Technical College. If you are planning to move on to a Registered Nursing Program, you may take courses that fulfill both Practical Nursing and Registered Nursing requirements. Be sure to work with an academic advisor if this is your chosen route.

Step Two:

Once you have become an LPN, research RN programs at other colleges. Apply to the college of your choice.

Important: if you are planning to apply for Financial Aid at the college you choose to complete your RN program, and you plan to take RN prerequisites at Pine Technical College, you must complete the Financial Aid Consortium Agreement for those courses with Pine Technical College.

Step Three:

Complete the required General Education courses available at PTC. The following are commonly required for RN Mobility programs, however, refer to the college you are taking the RN program for what classes they require.*
