Gunsmithing
Program Overview
Students have the option to pursue a Gun Repair Certificate tailored to train the graduate for counterwork and sales at retail outlets such as Gander Mountain, Cabela's and others. Students may build upon the Certificate with more advanced courses and learn additional facets of the trade such as stockwork, barreling and chambering and parts fabrication installation and adjustment. After completing ad additional 42 credits (on top of the Certificate), Diploma graduates may work for established gunshops, manufacturers or pursue their own business.

Once students have completed the Gunsmithing Certificate, adding the Prototyping - Gunsmithing Diploma is a great option.
Career and Employment Information
Gander Mountain, Cabella's, Big Sky Rifle Company and Dakota Arms are just a few employers. Since the program's inception in 1980 the lowest audited placement rate has been 66%, and is usually 96 - 100% Graduates are trained in diverse areas such as woodworking, manufacturing and business, enough so, that some graduates pursue employment in these related fields.
Cost of Program
The cost of the non-gunsmithing program credits is $144.71. The cost of gunsmithing program credits is $154.71.
Certificate: 26 credits = $3,992.46 + $1,500 (est. books & supplies) = $5,492.46
Diploma: 68 credits = $10,450.28 + $4,200* (est. books & supplies) = $14,650.28
