HEOP 1226 First Aid/Basic CPR (1 credit)

 

This course covers the practical and comprehensive knowledge to administer Advanced First Aid in any given situation encountered. It is suggested that a student have an understanding of basic medical terminology and human anatomy. This course has background information about heart disease, risk factors, prudent heart living, heart and lung functions and the warning signs and risk factors for stroke. One and two rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), foreign body airway obstruction management, and pediatric resuscitation will be taught. The course will consist of lectures and practice on CPR manikins.
